Music Promotion Video Initial Research (Pio George)

SoundCloud

SoundCloud is a website that contains countless unsigned artists and bands, and I thought it would be the perfect site to find a good song. On SoundCloud it is easy to find an unsigned artist, as you only have to type on the search bar, 'unsigned,' and it will show many groups where artists post their music. On SoundCloud, artists profiles has their personal contact information such as social media accounts e.g. Facebook and Twitter, and their email address. I can use the contact information to ask the artist and get permission to use their track on our music video.

Artists

On SoundCloud I was able to find 3 unsigned artists who had really good songs. These artists are T-Dollars, Woddy Green and J Antz. The song that I chose from T-Dollars is called 'From Time' the song is grime music. From Woddy Green it is 'Casper's Horseman,' the song is Hip Hop music. Also, from J Antz it is 'Ride of Die,' the song is rap music.

From these choices I picked the song 'Ride or Die' by J Antz as I believed it is a good song and my group will be able to make a believable music video out of it. The song fits into the rap genre we are looking into and has a sub genre of romance.
