This is a magazine advertisement for Lana Del Rey’s debut album ‘Born To Die’.
The first thing to consider in a magazine advert for a digipak is the text on the advertisement. Her name 'Lana Del Ray' in a large, bold font which takes up the top section of the page. This suggests its importance and how recognisable she is.
People will see her name, and instantly be attracted to the page, and therefore read more into it. The white colour of the title text stands out from the background, which is a full colour image, and for this reason is definitely the first thing that the eye is attracted to. The smaller sub heading is the album name "Born To Die". Under the date of when the album is released is a selection of songs that have been released as singles from this album. This is so that someone can read it, and identify a song they already know, which may interest them in listening to more songs by this artist.
This digipak contains a small booklet in the inside cover of lyrics for songs on the disc.
The overall look of the digipak is eye catching. The text is bold on the front cover and the white coloured text makes the writing stand out more. however, the back cover is not as eye catching. the writing on the back is not a bold.
The picture of Lana Del Rey on the front cover contrasts with the CD. She is wear a white shirt and the CD is white. White shows purity and goodness, however the red roses on the CD and her red lipstick show love and power. Contrasting these together show how Lana may have two different sides or identities.
