Magazine advert 1 (melissa)

This is the magazine advert for Calvin Harris' album.

The glasses worn on the face of the man is a trademark of Calvin. the glasses are 'flye eye' glasses and these are a representative of his record label; Fly Eye Records. however, it is not conventional of the House/Dance genre but it reinforces a generic convention from the genre because of it being different/unique.
The album cover stands out as it is a distinctive yellow colour and it is this colour because it will catch the viewers attention. in addition, it also contrasts against the image with the colours black and white.
In the left hand corner of the poster is the record label logos which allows viewers to identify who produced the music.

Calvin harris' name is on either side of the magazine advert and this is because it allows the viewers to identify who the artist is.

The date is in the centre of the advert to ensure that viewers know when the album comes out which can create a buzz or excitement.
